Re-mediation of "It's Not About Putting a Ring on It"

Re-mediating my blog post was a very enjoyable experience. When I first thought about re-mediating, I was mentally dead set on doing a podcast. I had always wanted to do one because it was something that I didn't have much experience with.

But as I read articles and listened to certain podcasts, I found that podcasts alone did not interest me. I wanted to learn how to make them, but when it came to actually listening to them, I found myself bored and uninterested. Then I came across ones that had some images with their talk. As I kept researching, I found that I was more interested in doing a video podcast than just a regular podcast. Based on the videos that I watched, I noticed that if pictures were simple and easy to understand, they could actually enhance the argument and keep the listener engaged. I didn't want to use actual video clips because I knew that moving images could distract the listener from the information. So instead, I picked simple photos that were related to the content. And unlike the other video podcasts, I implemented music in the entire video. At first, I was worried that it would be distracting, but I found that music could influence the mood and could thus help listeners to see the information in a different light. When I thought things were serious, I used serious music to highlight my points and vice versa.

The resulting video was something that was more enjoyable to me than a podcast would have been, and it was able to present the information in the very tone that I had envisioned: serious and engaging.
