The Apartment: A Collection of Semi-True, Semi-Not Stories

In my freshman year of high school, my English teacher asked us to tell two truths and a lie and had the class try to identify the lie. When I told mine, all the other kids could not guess which one was the lie. And when the lie was revealed, they squealed with delight and said "How could those other stories be TRUE?" I realized that sometimes the best stories in life are the ones that were real.

The Apartment is a collection of stories that were written over the course of my three years in college. I took the two truths and a lie concept and applied it to my experiences in living in dorms and apartments. Some of these stories actually happened and some are just fabricants of my imagination. It's up to you to figure out which ones are true and which ones are fake.

Kat, Lilia, Socorro, and Ruby are all based off of people that I've met in middle school, high school, and college. But they are also exagerrated manifestations that represent different parts of my personality. It's like splitting yourself into four parts and having them interact with one another. Things get interesting.

As a college student, it's hard for me to commit to writing long stories on a regular basis. Which is why each story is like a blurb that shows a glimpse of their lives together. Some of these stories were published in my literary journal project for class, and others have been written over time.

So please, see if you can guess which stories are true, and which ones are false. Try as you might, but sometimes the truth is too mixed up in lies to be seen clearly.
